Album Parodies
As a playful nod to the exhibit’s title, I reimagined iconic Beatles album covers through the lens of beetle biology and bug humor. Each parody—from Let It Bee to Dung!—featured clever wordplay, accurate entomology references, and custom illustrations or insect photography. The goal was to instantly catch attention and build a memorable connection between the exhibit’s science content and pop culture.
These “record sleeves” were printed as large-format vinyl decals and installed throughout the venue—on walls, doors, and even bathroom entrances. They became instant guest favorites, offering unexpected moments of humor and turning even transitional spaces into themed experiences.
Property Poster & Digital Promo Video
To build excitement for the Beetle Mania exhibit, I created a looping promotional video formatted for vertical screens across the property. These digital “property posters” used humor and nostalgia to immediately grab attention—featuring a fully reimagined version of The Beatles as “The Beetles,” now on tour… as bugs.
Each beetle was digitally dissected and reassembled in Photoshop to create movable limbs, which were then animated to play instruments. I styled each one after a member of the Fab Four—complete with mop-top haircuts—and gave them signature poses and instruments. Their performances were paired with a short music loop and screams of adoring fans to evoke the height of Beatlemania.
This project gave me the opportunity to explore lightweight motion design techniques while keeping the final output optimized for our video signage infrastructure.
